On 9 July, the Baku General Directorate for Architecture and Urban Planning under the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture held a meeting dedicated to reviewing the results of the first half of 2026.
The meeting reviewed the progress of urban planning projects across the capital, the outcomes of urban planning oversight, measures taken to combat unauthorized construction, and the key priorities for the period ahead.
Read Gasimov, Head of the Baku General Directorate for Architecture and Urban Planning, noted that strengthening urban planning oversight, preventing unauthorized construction in a timely manner, and ensuring that projects are implemented in line with the Baku Master Plan remain among the key priorities for Baku’s sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, priority tasks for the second half of the year were identified, and relevant structural units were assigned responsibilities to further strengthen urban planning oversight, continue efforts against unauthorized construction, and enhance public satisfaction.
