Duncan Norman: Azerbaijan Is an Important Regional Partner for the UK

The United Kingdom considers Azerbaijan an important regional partner.

"innews media" reports that British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman made the remarks at a press conference in Baku.

The ambassador noted that he met with journalists three days after presenting his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. D. Norman stressed that he had arrived at a significant moment in the development of relations between the two countries.

He said that the United Kingdom is determined to further develop its partnership with Azerbaijan:

“I have arrived in Azerbaijan at a significant moment in our relationship. The United Kingdom considers Azerbaijan an important regional partner, and I am determined to help advance this partnership. The United Kingdom and Azerbaijan have more than 30 years of cooperation. This relationship began in the energy sector. BP’s pioneering investment contributed to shaping Azerbaijan’s modern economic history, and we continue to build on that strong foundation.”
