British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman has spoken about his first impressions of Azerbaijan and the country's development over the past decades.
"innews media" reports that the ambassador made the remarks at a press conference in Baku.
D. Norman said that he first visited Azerbaijan in 1999 together with his wife, Kerry. The ambassador also noted that earlier this year, while learning Azerbaijani, he stayed with a family in Ganja.
He stressed that the Azerbaijan he sees today is significantly different from the country he visited in 1999:
“The Azerbaijan I see today is a dynamic, modern country, connected to the wider world in ways that would have been difficult to imagine during my first visit. But one thing has never changed: the warmth and hospitality of the Azerbaijani people.”
