At the “AYDANI” Art Gallery, the opening of young Azerbaijani artist Gunel Alishan’s first solo exhibition titled “Salam, Gunel” took place.
The exhibition featured over 30 works, grouped into several series.
At the opening ceremony, the founder and director of the gallery, artist Aydan Mammadova, noted that Gunel was once her student and congratulated her on reaching this important milestone in her artistic journey.
Sevil Karimova, a representative of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, digital artist, and curator, emphasized that “AYDANI” gallery continues to support young talents by providing a space for creative expression and idea exchange.
Other speakers included:
Deputy Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, People's Artist and Professor Agaly Ibrahimov, artist Firdovsi Atayev, Honored Artist, poet and composer Elza Seyidcahan, and Rasima Seyidcahan.
They all praised Gunel’s passion for art, her creative exploration, and desire for growth, congratulating her on her solo exhibition.
Gunel Alishan walked the red carpet to greet the guests and shared that a solo exhibition is a significant step for any artist.
Gunel draws inspiration from emotional waves and deep experiences in her life. Through this inner state, she transforms the unspoken thoughts and feelings into free-form expressions on canvas, conveying them sincerely from heart to heart. Her artworks reflect a genuine and powerful expression of the human inner world.
Her father, singer Elariz Mammadoglu, currently residing in the USA, sent a video greeting which was played at the event.
Later, a signing ceremony of her new painting “Struggle for Breath” was held.
Several works were acquired by collectors.
Guests were offered sweets and refreshments.
The exhibition will continue for three days.
