Within the framework of the 5th Global Implementation Support Symposium of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), held in Marrakech, a meeting was held between the Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov and ICAO Council President Toshiyuki Onuma and ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijani side provided information on the development of aviation in the country, as well as the current state of cooperation with ICAO, including initiatives such as the ACT-SAF program on sustainable aviation fuel and the “Alat Green Airport” project. An agreement on training services was also signed between ICAO and the State Civil Aviation Agency.
A meeting was also held between the Azerbaijani delegation and Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting included an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest in the transport sector and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation.
The importance of launching regular flights between the two countries and further developing air connectivity was also emphasized. An agreement was reached to sign an intergovernmental air services agreement in the near future, establishing a legal framework for cooperation in civil aviation.
