The closing ceremony of the “OIC Model Academy of International Relations – 2025” project, which has been organized annually in Azerbaijan for the past 15 years, was held at Baku State University (BSU).
The project was implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Baku State University, and the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC). More than 600 young people applied to participate in the program, and 100 candidates were selected based on their strong knowledge of the subject and proficiency in foreign languages.
Speaking at the ceremony, BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panakhov noted that the OIC Model Academy of International Relations represents a two-month program of training and collaboration. He emphasized that preparing highly qualified specialists in international relations is crucial for the development of states, and that the project provides young people with a valuable platform combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
Rafig Ismailov, Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC), stated that the international relations system is undergoing rapid transformation and that Azerbaijan has successfully demonstrated its position within this process. He highlighted that such initiatives play an important role in shaping the future careers of young people and support their active participation in the international arena.
During the event, a video presentation showcasing the activities of the “OIC Model Academy of International Relations – 2025” project was screened.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants who distinguished themselves during the program.
