On 25 November, a briefing was held in Nairobi for representatives of accredited international organizations and the diplomatic corps. Participants were informed about the preparations and overall work plan for the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will take place in Baku from 17-22 May 2026.

Held in parallel with the 3rd session of the UN-Habitat Executive Board, the briefing aimed to strengthen cooperation between diplomatic missions, the Government of Azerbaijan, and UN-Habitat in support of WUF13 and its anticipated outcomes.

Moderated by Sultan Hajiyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Kenya and Congo and Permanent Representative to the UN office in Nairobi, the briefing featured UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaklaudia Rossbax and Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan and national coordinator of WUF13. Both called for active participation in the Forum and for mobilizing national and institutional partners.

Anar Guliyev emphasized the importance of collaborative engagement in the process and urged colleagues to actively contribute to developing solutions that will improve the lives of urban residents at the global urban event to be held in Baku in 2026.
