On 5 March this year, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out attacks targeting Nakhchivan International Airport and its terminal building in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
In accordance with the Convention on International Civil Aviation of 7 December 1944, including the international standards set out in Annex 17 to the Convention — “Aviation Security,” an initial report prepared by the Member State must be submitted to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the event of an act of unlawful interference at an airport.
In line with these international standards, the State Civil Aviation Agency, a public legal entity under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has submitted the relevant initial report to ICAO.
