Employees of the State Maritime and Port Agency took part in an international training program titled “Common Core Curriculum Course for Maritime Auditors”, organized by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal.
The five-day training program aimed to establish a unified methodological approach to audit activities in the field of maritime transport.
Within the framework of the international training, discussions were held on the application of ISO standards related to audit principles, audit mechanisms of classification societies, as well as audits conducted in accordance with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.
At the end of the training, the Agency’s representatives successfully completed the program and were awarded certificates.
It should be noted that the training was attended by Ibrahim Salmanov, Head of the Department for Work with Classification Societies; Javidan Gasimli, Head of the Ship Registry and Documentation Department; and Parviz Abbasov, Acting Head of the Department for Work with Ports and Maritime Operations Bases.
