On 5 February 2026, within the framework of joint cooperation between the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) and the Public Union for the Study of Economic Resources (SER), an event entitled “Opportunities for Attracting Islamic Investments through the Equity Market for Companies” was held.
The opening remarks were delivered by Farid Abbaszade, Head of the Trading and Support Department of the Baku Stock Exchange, and Gafqaz Gahramanli, Executive Director of the Public Union for the Study of Economic Resources. The speakers highlighted the role of alternative investment instruments in the development of capital markets and emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation in this field.
As part of the event, Farhad Mansurov, Head of the Listing Department of the Baku Stock Exchange, delivered a presentation on “Opportunities Created by the Equity Market for Companies.” His presentation provided a comprehensive overview of Azerbaijan’s capital markets, mechanisms for accessing the equity market, the IPO process, and the advantages that the equity market offers to companies.
Subsequently, Ruslan Atakishiyev, PhD in Economics and Chairman of the Board of the Public Union for the Study of Economic Resources, presented on “Key Characteristics of Islamic Equities.” The presentation covered the compliance of equity investments with Islamic principles, halal listing requirements, and international practices related to the operation of Islamic (halal) equity markets.
The main objective of the event was to present the opportunities created by the equity market and IPO mechanisms for Azerbaijani companies, as well as to increase awareness of investment instruments that comply with Islamic principles.
The Baku Stock Exchange continues its initiatives aimed at raising awareness of capital market opportunities and enhancing financial literacy.
