Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting on 17 December with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country Houssam-Eldin Reda.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova congratulated the guest with the start of the diplomatic mission in our country and wished him success in his forthcoming efforts.
Contentment was witnessed during the meeting with the current level of friendly ties between our countries; the special roles of the Heads of State in the ties’ progress and their backing to that progress were emphasised especially.
Also, the co-operation links between the Milli Majlis and both the lower and higher chambers of the Parliament of Egypt was mentioned with satisfaction as the conversation went on. As Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said, her official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the meetings held as well as the other sides’ visits to our country have contributed to the advancement of the co-operation ties, between the legislative bodies as much as in other areas.
Ambassador Houssam-Eldin Reda expressed his gratitude for the meeting and congratulations, and declared his intention to promote a continued expansion of the contacts between the legislative bodies and in other spheres as well during his forthcoming work.
The meeting also saw an exchange of opinions about other matters of shared interest.
