A meeting was held at the State Maritime and Port Agency (SMPA) with the executive management of the “Türk Loydu” Classification Society.

Acting Chairman of the Management Board of SMPA, Mr. Afgan Jalilov, provided information on the recent measures implemented by the Agency as the regulatory authority in the field of maritime transport.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between SMPA and the “Türk Loydu” Classification Society, improving the efficiency of technical supervision of vessels, and expanding experience sharing in the area of certification. The possibility of organizing relevant training sessions at SMPA by the Classification Society in the future was also discussed.

Chairman of the Board of the “Türk Loydu” Classification Society, Mr. Oral Erdoğan, stated that, to ensure timely and high-quality classification inspections of vessels in Azerbaijan and to further strengthen cooperation with SMPA, the Society plans to establish a representative office in Baku. This initiative was welcomed and supported by SMPA.

Both sides expressed confidence that the cooperation will continue successfully in the future, noting that the meeting served as an important step toward strengthening the partnership.
