A literary and artistic event titled "Bir əsrlik söz karvanı" ("A Century-Long Caravan of Words") was held at the Faculty of Philology of Baku State University (BSU) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of prominent Azerbaijani poet, Bakhtiyar Vahabzade.

The event was also attended by a delegation from Navoi State University of Uzbekistan, reflecting the spirit of regional literary and cultural cooperation.

Associate Professor Rena Makhmudova from the Department of Methodology of Teaching the Azerbaijani Language and Literature highlighted the importance of the subject “Expressive Reading” in the university curriculum. She emphasized the role such events play in enhancing students’ expressive reading skills and spoke about the unique place Bakhtiyar Vahabzade's poetry holds in Azerbaijani literature, particularly in terms of its emotional and artistic depth.

The program featured a video of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade performing his famous poem “Vətən” ("Motherland"). Students recited excerpts from his poems on philosophical, religious, and patriotic themes. Scenes from the play “Fəryad” ("Scream") were screened, sparking a discussion on the poet’s contributions to Azerbaijani drama.

The event concluded with an artistic performance of the song “Azerbaijan-Türkiye”, symbolizing the brotherhood between the two nations. In her closing remarks, Professor Metanet Abdullayeva, Head of the Department of Methodology of Teaching the Azerbaijani Language and Literature, spoke about the artistic and philosophical excellence of Vahabzade's literary legacy.
