DokuBaku IDFF has completed selecting the films to be screened during the festival. These are 68 documentaries from 32 different countries. All films will be presented in 7 categories. The films included into the three categories, i.e. Best Feature Documentary (13), No-main competition (18), and Best International and Local Short Documentary (19), will be judged by the jury, and the winners will be announced on the last day of the Festival, September 25. The rest of the films will be screened within other categories, i.e. Out of Competition (5), DokuKids (4), DokuUA (5).
Each year the Festival presents a series of films by the master documentarist, whose names are known all over the world, and whose works have become a high standard in the industry. This year we arranged the retrospective of four films by the Festival’s special guest Sergei Dvortsevoy, a Kazakh filmmaker whose feature film Tulpan, was Kazakhstan's 2009 Academy Awards official submission to Foreign Language Film category.
The 6th edition is marked with two new categories. For the first time in the Festival history, the program includes Documentaries for Children. In addition, the Festival supports Ukrainian filmmakers by demonstrating films from the Ukraine. The screening schedule with indication of venues, dates and time will be presented later.
