Azerbaijan Airlines, part of AZCON Holding, is launching flights to Kars, Türkiye. With the addition of Kars as the airline's ninth destination in the brotherly country, Türkiye becomes the country with the highest number of destinations served by Azerbaijan Airlines. The launch of flights to Kars will not only meet the growing passenger demand between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, but also contribute to the further expansion of air connectivity between the two countries.
The inaugural flight on the new route will be operated on July 30, 2026. Flights on the Baku–Kars–Baku route will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. Tickets for the new destination are already on sale.
One of Türkiye's historically and culturally significant cities, Kars is renowned for its rich heritage, distinctive architecture, and unique cultural atmosphere. The city is home to the ancient city of Ani, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic Kars Castle, and the Sarıkamış Ski Resort, which attracts a large number of international visitors during the winter season. In addition, the Kars region offers travelers a unique experience through its local cuisine and scenic natural landscapes.
The new route will provide both residents of eastern Türkiye and travelers from Azerbaijan with the opportunity to discover a new destination through convenient, direct flights. In addition to leisure travel, the service will also offer greater convenience for family visits and business trips.
