Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Jean Todt, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety.
The meeting focused on prospects for enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations in the areas of sustainable transport, road safety, and urban mobility.
Anar Guliyev underscored the importance of maintaining the positive momentum generated by the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in Baku in May. It was noted that the Baku Call to Action, adopted during the Forum, once again reaffirmed the vital role of people-centred transport policies in fostering safe, sustainable, and resilient urban environments.
The parties also highlighted the importance of further strengthening international cooperation to promote sustainable and integrated urban mobility solutions, as well as to support the development of more inclusive, accessible, and livable cities.
