The Faculty of Chemistry of Baku State University (BSU) hosted an event titled “WUF13 Youth Simulation,” dedicated to the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) and the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture.”
The primary aim of the event was to present youth-driven approaches to addressing urban planning and environmental challenges.
Students representing a wide range of countries—including Azerbaijan, the United States, Türkiye, Denmark, France, Norway, Italy, Germany, China, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, the Netherlands, India, Canada, Switzerland, and Indonesia—took part in the simulation. Each participant analyzed environmental challenges specific to their country and presented urban planning models and projects developed to address these issues.
During the simulation, participants exchanged diverse perspectives on global environmental and urban development challenges. Discussions focused on key topics such as sustainable urban development, the protection of natural resources, clean energy solutions, and the development of environmentally sustainable urban infrastructure.
