The 5th Global Implementation Support Symposium of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has officially opened in Morocco. Held under the theme “Regional Solutions, Global Benefits,” the event is being attended by a delegation from Azerbaijan led by Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport.
This event serves as a platform to advance ICAO’s long-term strategic goals, address common implementation challenges, and promote sustainable aviation.
Within the framework of the symposium, a ministerial roundtable was held with the participation of representatives from more than 40 countries. An agreement was also signed on ICAO’s support to the Alat Airport Authority for the green certification of the “Silk Way Cargo Village” and airport project in the Alat Free Economic Zone. In addition, at a high-level meeting, a “Call to Action” document on advancing sustainable and resilient aviation development was adopted by representatives of the member states.
The symposium will run until April 16.
