The final concert of the I Am Jazzman young talent competition was held in the concert hall of ADA University.
The I Am Jazzman young performers competition is one of the projects of the Baku Jazz Festival, aimed at supporting young musicians and popularizing jazz music among young people. The competition was first held in 2006 and has grown into a prestigious international competition for young jazz performers.
The final concert of the I Am Jazzman competition featured musicians: Ziya Alishov (bass), Muhammad Allahverdiyev (piano), Nijat Guliyev (piano), Orkhan Guluzade (piano), Lala Iskenderli (vocals), Ali Nasib (drums), Savara Nasib (vocals), Madina Pashaeva (piano), Elton Saliyev (vocals) and others.
The festival continued with evening concerts and an exhibition at the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theatre. The colorful exhibition "The Bop of Painting" by Mexican artist Jazzamoart was opened in the foyer of the theatre before the concerts. The artist combines elements of pop art, surrealism and classical painting into colorful compositions in his works that are impossible to ignore. The evening continued with performances by musicians Andreas W. Andersson Viaticum (Sweden) and David Linx Band (Belgium). Soft improvisations, a calm, relaxed timbre, and a soulful atmosphere did not leave the audience indifferent, who greeted each composition with thunderous applause.
The Baku Jazz Festival 2025 is taking place from October 24 to 31. For eight days, the best jazz musicians from all over the world are performing in Baku. The Baku Jazz Festival includes concerts, exhibitions, jam sessions, film screenings, master classes, seminars, and meetings with famous music bloggers.
