ADA University hosted the second national symposium on quality assurance in higher education on 25 and 26 September 2025. The event was organized in collaboration with The Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (TKTA) and was attended by representatives from numerous national institutions of higher education.

The symposium featured talks, seminars and workshops on current topics and the latest trends in quality assurance and accreditation. In his opening speech, Tural Ahmadov, Chair of the Board of TKTA, elaborated on the progress made in terms of institutional and program accreditation on the national level. He emphasized the need to develop more opportunities for the continuous professional training of those working in quality assurance, and he commended ADA University on their efforts to organize this symposium as a valuable contribution.

The symposium provided a platform for the ongoing and creative debate of innovations of Azerbaijan’s universities in an international context. Throughout the two days of the event, national and international experts shared the latest trends and insights in accreditation, quality teaching and education, international rankings, and human resource development.

Frank Niedermeier, one of the speakers and Co-Head of the Center for Quality Development at the German University of Potsdam, was much impressed by the atmosphere and dynamics he experienced during the event: “It is astonishing to see how the quality assurance community in Azerbaijan is rapidly growing and developing. This is impressive to witness, and I really enjoyed participating in this symposium, as I did last year. TKTA and ADA clearly know what they are doing.”

Dr. Maurus Roller, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at ADA University, considers the success of the symposium as encouraging: “The participants were very motivated. We are all aware that quality assurance is essential to education, and such an event opens new opportunities for collaboration.”

This is underlined by Dr. Elkin Nurmammadov, Vice Rector of Academic Affairs at ADA University: “Quality assurance is essential to the success of our national universities and their students. After only two years, the symposium is already well established. It is good to see our national experts on quality assurance coming together in such a creative and dynamic atmosphere.”
