On May 23, 2025, a scientific-practical seminar on the topic “Key Considerations in Thyroid Ultrasound Examinations” was held at the Central Customs Hospital (Mərkəzi Gömrük Hospitalı). The presentation was delivered by the sonologist of the Central Customs Hospital Dr. Gunay Ahmadova.
The seminar was organized by the Scientific-Practical and Training Center of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee. Participants included Dr. Eldeniz Huseynov, Head of the Radiology Department and radiologist at the Central Customs Hospital, cardiologist Dr. Gunay Mammadova from the Cardiology Department, Head of the Physiotherapy Department Dr. Saida Karimova, endocrinologist Dr. Naida Novruzova, and medical residents.
Dr. Gunay Ahmadova provided an in-depth overview of the evaluation of thyroid pathologies using the Ti-RADS classification system. She elaborated on the ultrasound diagnostics of benign nodular goiter, diffuse thyroid diseases, follicular adenoma and carcinoma, papillary carcinoma, rare malignant tumors, and other conditions, emphasizing their clinical significance and diagnostic approaches in her presentation,
The seminar was held in an interactive format, with numerous questions from residents addressed throughout the session. It should be noted that such educational initiatives aim to enhance the knowledge and professional development of young medical specialists. Through regular scientific-practical seminars, conferences, and interactive trainings, medical residents strengthen their theoretical foundations and systematically improve their practical skills - a crucial factor in their growth into independent and competent physicians.
