The opening of the art exhibition “Azerbaijani National Cuisine” by young artists of the KamART Art Gallery took place at the Shah Palace Hotel on May 20.

The exhibition included 55 works on canvas from 26 authors. The exhibition reflects the diversity of Azerbaijani cuisine: meat dishes and pastries, dolma, kebabs, dairy and flour products, snacks, pickles and sweets, syrups and jam - interesting and colorful compositions demonstrating the cuisine of different regions of Azerbaijan. The exhibition featured a catalog of the exhibition's works, the design of which was done by Novruz Novruzov and Gulnar Safarova.

The author of the idea and curator of the project, director of the KamART art gallery, senior lecturer at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts Kamala Jafarzadeh welcomed the assembled guests and explained in detail how the idea of this project was born, the process of its implementation, noting that the goal of the exhibition is to draw attention to the cultural heritage and culinary traditions of Azerbaijan and support for talented young artists.

Deputy chairman of the Union of artists of Azerbaijan, people's artist of Azerbaijan, professor Agali Ibragimov, honored cultural worker of Azerbaijan, president of the National association of culinary artists of Azerbaijan Tahir Amiraslanov, honored artist of Azerbaijan, associate professor of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts Rashad Jabarov and famous artist, laureate of international competitions Samir Gafarov gave a speech at the opening of the event.

On March 16-17 this year, the exhibition “Azerbaijani Cuisine” was presented in Tokyo with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Japan and aroused great interest among the Japanese. The exhibition consisted of 32 works by 15 young authors.

All exhibitors received diplomas, Tair Amiraslanov, Rashad Dzhabarov and Samir Gafarov were awarded by certificates.

The young artists told the exhibition guests about their works, their composition, as well as their views on national cuisine. The purpose of the exhibition is to draw attention to the cultural heritage and culinary traditions of Azerbaijan and support talented young artists.

The exhibition will last until May 21. Admission is free.
