The first panel discussion on "Peacebuilding and Public Discourse through the Media Lens" was held within the framework of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

In a panel discussion moderated by Mrs. Nadia Gyane, host of the international TV channel AnewZ, Latifa Akharbach, President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco, noted that globalization and the rapid development of digital technologies have reshaped the nature of international relations and further increased the role of the media in the field of public diplomacy and strategic communication. She emphasized that the public discourse formed through the media makes an important contribution to strengthening mutual understanding between societies and promoting a culture of peace.

Ms. Raushan Baltabayeva, Head of the Communications Service of the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that in the modern information environment, the media acts not only as a means of transmitting information, but also as a strategic platform that influences the formation of public opinion. She noted that media activities based on ethical principles are of particular importance in terms of strengthening trust, reducing the effects of disinformation, and forming an environment of sustainable dialogue.

The panel discussion also looked into the issues like strengthening public diplomacy through the media, promoting constructive public discourse, expanding information exchange, and the media's contributions to peacebuilding in the face of global challenges.
