I would like to extend our warmest greetings to all participants of the NEC & Juniper Baku workshop from the Embassy of Japan.
As humanity, we are living amidst the rapid evolution of civilization, with discussions not only about 5G but also about 6G progressing at an astonishing pace in the realm of information and communication technology (ICT). This brings with it an enormous consumption of energy.
Today, ICT technology is indispensable across all industries. To control the ongoing consumption of energy and realize a subsequent green society, ICT plays a central, pivotal role.
This year, COP-29 will be held in Baku, and the host government of Azerbaijan is calling for "In Solidarity for a Green World." The momentum toward greening our world will only accelerate from here.
Japan also hopes to contribute to the global greening process, not only in Azerbaijan but worldwide, through its strengths in energy management systems utilizing ICT and energy-saving technologies in smart networks.
In this context, NEC, one of Japan’s major ICT companies, has been a global enterprise contributing to society for over 120 years, leveraging advanced technologies, knowledge, and experience.
NEC particularly excels in the fields of telecommunications, IT services, and social infrastructure. The timing of this workshop, hosted by NEC and its global partner, Juniper Networks of the United States, is well-suited for fostering collaboration in Azerbaijan.
Through this workshop, we hope for deeper contributions to telecommunications infrastructure and enhanced exchanges between Japan and Azerbaijan in the ICT sector. I sincerely wish for the success of this event. Thank you very much.
